Comment:
This guy has no idea. He says the court is trying to ban the word God from the Pledge of Allegiance. I think that’s a great idea. Lets bring back the original pledge of allegiance. You know, the one that never mentioned god, the way it was written. "Under god" was only added in 1954. He also states that evolution is tantamount to atheism. Because everyone knows that the study of how life changes over time and not believing in an imaginary being are the same thing. What an idiot.

Answer:

"No Idea?" I have studied evolution for 47 years, how long have you studied it? How many scientific papers have you written or even read? How much do you really know about God?. On what scientific basis to you know that God is imaginary? You don’t know. That is an assumption based on finite knowledge. You believe in an ever changing and confused theory which even many evolutionists don’t believe anymore but push the idea because they don’t want to abandon evolution. If they did, then the only other alternative would be creation and oh my we couldn’t have that could we?

Evolution is tantamount to atheism. Are you an atheist? Are you an evolutionist? How could anyone believe that everything happened naturally and believe God created all things?

Which"evolution" are you talking about anyway? Macro or micro? Micro evolution is indeed science, that is change within the kind. For example, two different type dogs can reproduce and produce a different type of dog, but this is a loss of information in the DNA. A long haired dog mates with a short haired dog and you get a medium haired dog. The off spring has lost the genetic information for long hair. This shouldn’t even be called "evolution" because the word evolution means to go from a lower form to a higher form and this isn’t the case here.

Macro evolution (evolving from one type of animal to another higher form) on the other hand would require adding information to DNA. This has never been observed. Positive mutations have never been observed and are only assumed. There is no means to add information to DNA therefore, animals cannot evolve to a new higher animal. So, macro evolution is not science and it is not even a valid scientific theory because it is not observable, testable or falsifiable which is science’s own standard for any scientific theory. Evolutionists "believe" macro evolution happens and they make up stories and drawings etc, regardless of the fact that they have not one iota of scientific evidence for it and so they, like the atheists, use faith in their reasoning, and a lot of it all the way through the so called evolutionary process.

By the way, "evolutionary process" is an oxymoron. Evolution is randomness with no intelligence involved and process is a well thought plan (with intelligence) to achieved a desired product.

The Bible says that animals were created in "kinds" and that they reproduce after their kind. What do we see in the world today? All animals in kinds reproducing after their own kind. If you try to artificially breed one kind of animal with another kind the off spring, if it lives, is always sterile and could not reproduce. Mules are often bred from donkeys and horses which are closely related and mules are always sterile. So, in the wild all animals stay in their kind.

Atheists use evolution to try and legitimize their own beliefs that there is no God.

Thanks for your comment,
Jack Heckathorne

Ivren,

To accept Christ as your savior simply say a prayer to God the father and tell him that you believe in Jesus Christ and want him as your savior. The Bible says that if we believe in our heart the Lord Jesus and confess with our mouth that God has raised him from the dead you will be saved. We must try to avoid sin but if we do happen to sin after we are saved then we should confess our sins to God. (1 John 1:9) and he will forgive us. This means to name each sin to him not simply to ask for forgiveness. This will allow your life to be controlled by God the Holy Spirit and He will lead you to live the right kind of life.

To be saved it is not what we do that counts it’s what we believe. Acts 16:31 says “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.”

Salvation is a decision that you make. You choose weather or not you want to be saved because we all have a free will to choose for or against God. You said that you are a sinner. We all are but when we believe in Christ our sins are forgiven so that God can accept us into heaven.

I would suggest that you read out commentaries on “The Gospel of Jesus Christ” “Fear vs. faith” and “Can you lose your salvation”
If you have further questions please write to me jack@gjcn.org

Regards,

Hello. Was looking under “Christ confirmed in you” and found your site.
Read your amazing comments on “Can you lose your salvation” and it was truly quite eye opening. I thank you for your words of hope and encouragement on the facts of what the Bible says, and what it DOESN’T say!!!!

Thanks a lot. Lord Bless.

Hello,

Thank you for your kind comments. It’s always encouraging to hear from people who appreciate the truth of the Bible.

So many people try to make the Bible say what they already believe rather than believing what the Bible says. We have a number of commentaries on various Bible subjects and some new ones coming out soon so keep reading.

Dear Sir,

After having read your site I like to state that my life as a Christian and an entrepreneur is like a salmon, it’s a long tough way, always going upstream, with steep waterfalls and hungry bears. I often think I have to rely on my own strength. I keep on swimming, even when I should have taken a rest. The responsibility of being an entrepreneur with 10 employees is a heavy load. As a result some waterfalls depress and when I am tired some bears hit me (but so far have not eaten me). Sometimes they hit me so hard that I fall down few meters. Then at that place I have to rest. Many fish come downstream and invite me to go down with them.

It is tempting, they swim so easily. Still, so far, all times, I remain where I am. Them, gradually I recover and once I am fully healed I am a strong healthy salmon, who does what a healthy salmon has to do… go up, back to the source of his life.

Yours sincerely,
Subject: Commentary Comment/Question

In January my father passed away at the young age of 51. I had been away from the church for about 3-4 years. I grew up believing in Christ, as my savior, at the age of 10 I accepted his salvation, and was born again. When I was 17 or 18 I walked away from Christ, and tried to not look back. God never let me go. He sent person after person into my life to get me to come home. I refused, till January, when he took my dad home to be with him. I’ve struggled over the past months with the hopes of finding a church. I finally found a home at Kalamazoo Valley Family Church. God has been leading me back into his arms day by day.

Recently my best friend of 5 years and I had a VERY long debate. She believes you can loose your salvation. Now this went against everything I believed or was ever taught. But she had some verses to back it up. I’m still like a baby in my faith, still growing in Christ and his word. I had no verses to repeat to her, except, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Since that discussion I have been looking to God to lead me where he would. I have talked to many strong Christians, and it seemed to be half and half. I was unsure, had I had been taught the right thing all my life?

Today I searched “ask jeeves“ and found your site. The words you wrote spoke to me and confirmed what I thought my heart was saying. Satan is trying to cast doubt in my heart. Your words were so reassuring and I could feel Christ telling me “It’s all right, I’m here forever.” As I read further and further the stronger the urge to cry became. I sit here writing you this to thank you for listening to your Lord. To thank you for your faith in Christ. Thank you for you willingness to tell.

Your sister in Christ,
Subject: commentary question

Dear Becky,

Thank you so much for your wonderful letter and your kind words. Like you, I had a similar life. I was away from God for a time. God in his grace will allow something to come into our lives to bring us back to him. It may be discipline or the death of a loved one or the loss of something else dear to us. He deals with us as his children who have gone astray. That is why the Bible uses the human example of the family. Once you are born into a family you can never get out of it. You can sin and even renounce your parents but you will always be their child. The same is true with God. Once you are born into Gods family you become Gods property and no matter what you do you can’t get out even if you want to. This is because of Gods grace. If we stray from God he will do what is necessary to get us back. However it is still our decision. This is what the Prodigal son parable is about. He started off as a son, went astray, and returned as a son. His father always loved him and never renounced him.

I have studied the verses that people use to try and prove that you can lose your salvation. Someday I plan on writing an article on them because the verses they use are nearly always speaking about either loss of rewards in heaven, the sin unto death on earth or are taken out of context. The sin unto death is when a person chooses to live his whole life in sin and doesn’t confess it to God. He is still saved but dies a very horrible death and loses his rewards in Heaven.

Jesus said in John 6:37 quoted in a more accurate translation from the Greek: “All believers that God the Father gives to me shall come to me and he that comes to me I will under no circumstances cast out”

To know the truth all you have to do is seek the truth and God will lead you to it.

Please read our commentary on “Fear vs. Faith” if you haven’t already.

Subject: Commentary Comment/Question

Thank you for your thoughts on prayer, any study on the subject of prayer is always welcome as long as it is based on Scripture-yours was. There is only one slight quibble

I have, and that is on the subject of God not hearing the prayers of unbelievers. As a hell-bound young man, God saved my life on several occasions, got me out of the traps of alcoholism and drug addiction. I did not know Jesus, the Father, or the Holy Spirit, but did have enough sense to cry out, “If You exist please help me.” He did help me many times and it wasn’t a coincidence or by happenstance. As Jesus spoke of the Pharisee and the sinner in the temple, you will notice that it was the sinner who received grace, not the one who thought he knew God.

One of the traps that Christians fall into is self-righteous-ness, that has happened to me. We need to be careful not to limit God’s mercy and grace, because it always over-rides His justice.

Respectfully yours, Peter ********, Cumberland, Md.

From: “Jack Heckathorne” <jack@gjcn.org>
Subject: commentary question

I have had other people tell me the same thing as you have about answering the prayer of an unbeliever. However, I can find no scripture to support it. I do believe that God with his foreknowledge will preserve the unbeliever until such time as he believes and at their request, bring him to the knowledge of Christ. This is different than the believer’s prayer. “If ye abide in me (believers only) and my words abide in you, you may ask whatsoever ye will and I will do it”.

One other point is that God does indeed have mercy and grace but he will not compromise his justice or any other of his attributes for that matter. The wonderful thing about his plan for mankind is that He found a way to have mercy on the whole human race and provide a way of salvation without compromise but only those who believe will be saved so God will preserve those who he knows will believe. I don’t believe for a moment that God will hear the prayers of an atheist or a Muslim for example who actively reject Christ. Thanks for your comment.

Subject: RE: commentary question

Dinosaurs were not mentioned because the word dinosaur wasn’t invented until the 1800’s when the giant bones were first discovered by a dentist. However, dogs weren’t mentioned, neither were horses or monkeys or many animals. So, what does that prove? The average size of a dinosaur was about the size of a sheep and Noah would have taken young ones anyway so they could reproduce. Since they come from eggs even the largest dinosaurs were once very small and being a reptile, as all reptiles do, they grow all of their life. So there is no reason why they could not have been on the ark.

I have always found it interesting that we know the American Indians drew very accurate pictures of dinosaurs on cave walls in the 1500’s and no one knew what they were until the discovery of the bones in 1801.

So, how could the Indians have known what they looked like 300 years prior to the discovery unless they had seen live ones? Many people believe that the ocean dwelling plesiosaur still lives. I have a photo of a dead one which was pulled up by a Japanese fishing boat in the 1970’s

The book of Job mentions something called a behemoth that lived in the fens (swamp) and had bones like iron and a powerful tail like a cedar tree. Whatever it was it wasn’t an elephant or a hippo because they have very small tails.

Marco Polo after a visit to china reported that the emperor had dragons pulling wagons. Why would he say that unless it was true? Dragons of course look amazingly like dinosaurs and China is even now known as the Land of the dragon. Perhaps dinosaurs were call dragons at that time.

There are many more examples of Dinosaurs existing with man. The Inca stones, thousands of smooth basketball size rocks were dug up a thousand years ago in Peru which had paintings of many animals on them including dinosaurs. One even had a man riding on one.

Many sea monsters were reported in the days of sailing ships describing an animal with a long neck. We don’t see them today because ships make too much noise and probably scare them away and there are probably less of them. Two were found dead on a beach in the early 1900’s and photos were taken.

In Texas human footprints in rock were found with dinosaur footprints. In the same area and rock human footprints measuring 22” long were found.

Evolutionists say dinosaurs became extinct some 60 some million years ago because they are found in a certain type of rock but when human fossils are found in the same type rock they are dated in the thousands of years.

The giants in Genesis 6-4 were produced by the sons of God (demons) taking human wives and creating a super race of men to control the world. Satan always wants to control the world. This is likely why God had to destroy the human race because man had become so corrupt. Adolph Hitler tried the same thing with his super race and at the same time he tried to destroy the inferior people such as Jews and Christians and by so doing, he thought, he would be able to control the world. Others throughout history have done similar things in order to control the world. The antichrist will try the same thing in the tribulation and once again God will have to intervene as he did with the flood.

Thanks for your comment. We enjoy hearing from you.

I have to ask … Do you believe that Adam and Eve were the first people on earth?

if you do then I would like to find out where the other people came from the wives of Seth and Cain ?

Is it not conceivable that others were on the earth but Adam and Eve were the first to know reason and understanding?
could it not be possible that when Cain was sent away that he may have (for the lack of better words) married a cave girl?
if you put someone of high intelligence with those of lesser intelligence the higher will usually rule.
Genesis 5:16 thru Gen 5:24 {where did all the wives come from??}

Thanks for the chance to ask

Subject: commentary question

Yes I believe that Adam and Eve were the first people and that they were created in the six literal days of creation.

Gen. 2:18 says that “It is not good that THE MAN should be ALONE.” …but for Adam there was not found a help mate (a woman) for him” Gen. 2:20.

This indicates that Adam was the only human alive at the time. Then God created the woman (which means from man) and in Genesis 3:20 Eve is called the mother “OF ALL LIVING”. Since the woman was created after the man and she was the mother of all living people (eventually) we can conclude that Adam and Eve were the original people.

Today there are approximately an equal number of males and females born in each country. No one seems to know why but it’s true. In Adams day we can assume the same was true.

Cain was the first born and many years passed. When Cain went to the land of Nod (Gen 8;17) He “knew” his wife. The word knew is a polite way of saying he had sex with her indicating he was already married to her. He didn’t meet her in Nod as some think. Gen 4:1 clarifies the meaning of the word knew. “Adam knew his wife and she conceived”… Cain was married before he went to Nod.

You have to remember that Adam had sons and daughters at least 130 years till Seth was born. In 130 years they could have had many children possibility 60 or 70. The sons and daughters married each other had children and eventually moved to other places and made cities. Evidently when Cain went to Nod a number of generations had past. With long life spans the earth would have populated rather quickly.

Being very conservative lets suppose that Adam had 50 sons and daughters (25 couples) and they only had 10 children per couple per generation of 20 years for 130 years or 6 generations.

25 x 10 = 250, 125 x 10= 1,250, 625 x 10 = 6,250, 3125 x 10 = 32,125, 17,640 x 10 = 176,400, 88,200 x 10 = 882,000.

882,000 people in six generations! In fact, Gen 5:4 says that Adam had sons and daughters for 800 years after Seth. He lived 930 years having children.

Of course they could have averaged many more children per generation but this shows that neither Cain nor any of the children of Adam would have had any trouble finding a wife. Once the earth was populated God stopped the long ages of man so as to not over populate the earth. Genesis 6:6 limits the age of man to 120 years. There is no reason to believe that Gods creation married some imaginary evolved creature.

The big question should be where did the cave girl come from and how did she just happen to match Gods creation of man to the point she could reproduce with him? Hope this helps. Write anytime.

Question – Reply from Dark_Rein

I’m sorry that this is an addition to such an old post, but reading then thinking about your reply I had to think about it.

Adam and Eve were to replenish the earth, regardless how you look at this word and its meaning it does not mean that there was nothing before or after Adam or Eve but just the chance idea of some evolution carried forward. May not have been Gods intended mates but there were giants in the world and in some religions mating with other beings. Just asking what your belief of this was.

##################################

Jack’s reply:

Please note: Anyone who is not a believer in the Person and work of Jesus Christ cannot understand spiritual things because his is spiritually dead from the time of birth because Adams sin was passed down to us, and it is the Holy Spirit communicating with our Human Spirit which gives us the ability to understand spiritual phenomena.

“But the natural man (an unbeliever) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14)

Once we believe in Christ our human spirit is “quickened” which means to make alive something which was once dead.

“And you (believers) hath he quickened, (made alive) who were dead in trespasses and sins… ” (Eph2:1)

The Giants

The Giants which you speak of were the result of fallen Angels taking human wives. Of course, this was quite a long time after Adam. Remember, Satan and the angels that followed him, were judged by God and cast out of heaven onto the earth before the creation of man. They are still here, but not in human form, and will be cast into the Lake of Fire at the final judgment. Satan appealed his case to God so, the entire Earths history is to resolve the conflict between the fallen Angels and the elect Angels (the two-thirds that chose to stay with God) and to vindicate Gods judgment of condemning Satan and his followers to eternal condemnation.

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, (for a long time afterward) when the sons of God (fallen angels) came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6:4)

Alone on the Earth

In confirmation to this Genesis 2:18 says that the man (Adam) was alone on the earth.

“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet (woman) for him.”

If the man was alone, in other words without a woman or ancestry, he simply could not have been the product of evolution, nor could the giants because they came from human wives which were descended from Adam. Adam had to have been the original man.

Replenish the Earth?

The problem we have here is common for the King James Bible. It is a problem of anachronism i.e. the changing of English word meanings over time. When a question such as this arises we should go directly to the original Hebrew language to find the true meaning of a word and not to a modern dictionary.

King James Version
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)

According to some, this verse in the King James Version indicates that Adam and Eve were to refill the planet, implying that that they weren’t the first humans God created but were part of a “second creation.” Many who accept the gap theory believe this. However, take a look at the same verse in the New King James Version.

New King James Version
“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)

The word replenish in the King James Version was used in the seventeenth century (when the King James Version was translated) to simply mean “fill.” It expressed such ideas as to stock, fill, supply, or inhabit. Replenish is related to the word replete; being replete with happiness is being full with happiness. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the first recorded use of the word replenish to mean “to fill again” occurred in 1612, one year after the King James Version was published. Furthermore, it was used in a poetic sense, and Genesis 1:28 is not poetry. The English word has changed meaning over the centuries so that the word replenish today generally means “refill.”

The original Hebrew word for replenish in Genesis 1:28 is male. This word simply means “fill” and is translated that way in the King James elsewhere (e.g., Genesis 1:22). So neither the Hebrew word nor the English word chosen by the King James Version translators meant, at that time, “refill.” The translators’ choice of replenish may have been meant to convey something akin to “fill up” (i.e., to “make replete [full]“), but they were certainly not trying to convey anything about another filling of the earth.

The New King James Version (and some other versions) correctly translates the word in today’s parlance as “fill.” This apparent “contradiction” is simply a translational issue-not an error in the original manuscripts.

Technical textual Exegesis from Hebrew:

Now, in the Hebrew Biblical text here milu=vav-mem-lamed-aleph-vav.. This is in the kalimperative- second person plural “you all.” Further, the term replenish, in (Reuben Alcalay 5 Volume The Complete Hebrew-English Dictionary, Vol.Aleph to Mem: p.1334), means to be full, to become full.

Volume q-z, p. 3074, the word “mila shaanit” means replenish. Thus, the aforementioned term shows there is a specific term: “mila shaanit,” (which basically means to fill a second time, thus replenish), for replenish which is not used here in Genesis 1:28.

Thus, linguistically, and doctrinally, the term fill, thus fill the earth, best suits this textual translation.

Corrected translation: “GOD blessed them and said to them, “BE fruitful and multiply and fill the earth…”

Hello. I just found this site while looking up the word repentance in the Google search engine. Our pastor is leading a Sunday school class on the psalms and today’s study focused on a penitent psalm, Psalm 51. The word repent came up and left me with some questions which we weren’t able to explore fully, being limited on time and answering the remaining questions in our workbook. I broke the word repent down to its roots as I understood it:

“re” meaning go back and “pent” meaning summit or top. So I thought it meant going back to the status of mankind before the fall, wrong. The discussion concluded with repent being defined as turning away from sin, also wrong, as I now see. Since so many of us are taught how to lead someone to Christ imploring them to repent of their sins, what is the best way to lead someone to the Lord. Is the ABC formula of Admit, Believe and Confess sufficient?

From: “Jack Heckathorne” <jack@gjcn.org>
Subject: Commentary question

Hi Sharon,

Actually, as far as salvation is concerned all we need to do is believe in the person and work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is not necessary to admit that we are sinners or confess sin to be saved. Look at it this way, Sin is why Christ died on the cross. God the Father required the payment of death for sin. Jesus died as a payment for the sin of others and since he has no sin of his own he is qualified to do this. If one of us tried to do this we would be condemned because of our sins therefore, we are not qualified. Jesus, having no personal sin, could be resurrected. It is the resurrection that is salvation. If we believe in him we have that same resurrection.

“For the wages (payment) of sin is death, but the gift (not earned or deserved) of God (the Father) is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Salvation is a GIFT since Jesus Christ made the payment of death so then nothing is required of us.

God the father was satisfied with the work of Christ. Since Christ paid the price of sin already there is nothing left for us to do. Our sins have been paid for and are not an issue for salvation. It is not necessary to admit that we are sinners. The Bible tells US that we are all sinners. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Any honest person already knows he is a sinner anyway.

Confession of sin is not a condition for salvation; it is for believers who sin after they are saved to return us to fellowship with God while on earth. It is necessary for our spiritual walk with the Lord. A carnal Christian is one who sins and does not confess it. He is not controlled by the Holy Spirit. Your scripture of Psalms 51 is discussing this very thing. The writer here is a saved person confirmed in verse 14 where he says “thou God of my salvation”. In verse 3 he acknowledges his transgressions or sins. We find the very same thing in the New Testament in 1 John 1:9. John here is a saved man and he has addressed his writing toward the church when he writes “If we (Christians) confess our sins (name them to God) He (God the Father) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Satan always wants to add something to faith. He wants us to add our works, emotions, giving up something, changing our life etc. because if we believe we have to do all that to be saved we may tend shy away from God. It is a very clever tactic. We must realize that Satan wants to deceive us and this is just one of his ways.

So, to answer your question when we explain the Gospel we should explain that everyone was born a sinner because Adams sin was passed down to us. This causes us to have a “sin nature” in our soul so when we are born we are born physically alive but spiritually dead. Because we are spiritually dead we cannot enter heaven. The Bible tells us that we are “quickened” (made alive) when we believe. We cannot earn our way in nor can we do anything about our sin nature, our past sin or our future sin. The Bible tells us that we must be born again. First we are born physically then when we accept Jesus Christ we are born spiritually. At this time our sins which have been paid for are now forgiven, all of them.

As far as the unbeliever is concerned he should understand that he is saved through faith in Jesus Christ. He should change his unbelieving mind to a believing mind.

I normally quote this verse: Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the (eternal) life, he that believes in me, though he were (spiritually) dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26)

Remember, salvation is a gift. A gift is not earned or deserved. It is freely accepted. Believing is a non meritorious act. There are no strings to salvation.

I believe that if we gain a full and true understanding of the Gospel, repentance, confession etc. that we can explain the Gospel in our own words and vernacular. You have a gift to reach people that no one else can and when you are ready with your knowledge of these things God will bring people around to you so that you can lead them to the Lord.

Thank you for your question,

hi there my name is Mark

I do believe in eternal security. the question is based on something my wife believes . she believes that a person once saved can decide because we have free will that he does not believe anymore and therefore become unsaved. I do not think a person that is truly saved will do that but I would still like to hear your comment on that. I do have one question . the bible says that if we confess our sins he is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from that sin . if when we are saved he imputes his righteousness to us why do we need to confess sin. what happens if we would die with unconfessed sin . is confession used to take the feeling of guilt away. could you please send your comments to *****@snet.net thank you

From: “Jack Heckathorne” <jack@gjcn.org>
Subject: Commentary question

Hi Mark.

In John 6:37 Jesus said “All that the Father gives me (believers) shall come to me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out. The Greek word translated “no wise” could better be translated “under no circumstances”. The Bible give us the example of being born into Gods family. Once you are born into a family you are always a son and can never get out no matter how bad you are or what you say. We don’t (can not) save ourselves and we don’t (can not) unsave ourselves. We are bought with a price and become Gods property.

When we believe in Christ our sins are forgiven as far as entering Heaven is concerned because no sin is allowed into heaven. However, while we are here on earth we will still sin because we have the sin nature which was passed down from Adam. So, since we still sin there is a need to confess our sins so that we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and be controlled by him. This allows us to be an effective witness for Christ. When we sin we quench (or put a halt to) the work of the Holy Spirit in us. Confession does away with our sins and allows the Holy Spirit to use us for Christ.

Confession may make you feel less guilty but that is not the purpose of it. Since our sins are forgiven for eternity at the moment we believe in Christ if we should die with unconfessed sin we would still be saved. However, we should confess our sins on a regular basis because God will discipline us if we don’t and we as Christians need the controlling ministry of the Holy Spirit in order to serve Christ.

Thanks for your question
