Studying about God is not like studying science or math or history or economics or any of the other realms of human knowledge. For one thing God is not someone we can directly see with our eyes, or hear with our ears, or even comprehend with our minds except at the most rudimentary level. When we approach the study of God there are some assumptions that must be made—some basic axioms that must be accepted as true—before we can make any meaningful progress in understanding who He is and what He has to do with us.
